MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WXIX) -Two people are dead following a three-vehicle crash in Middletown Saturday, according to the Middletown Division of Police.

Officers say they were called to State Route 122 and Dixie Highway for the report of the crash around 6 p.m.

Three people were taken to Atrium Medical Center for life-threatening injuries, but one person was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.

Officers say the two others were then flown to Miami Valley Hospital, where one person later died.

The other person involved remains in critical condition, police said.

Police say they do not believe speed and impairment played a factor in the crash at this time.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
