The Sanbornton Police Department is investigating a deadly crash on Route 132.

Responding crews say they were called to the scene around 3:08 p.m. Saturday after a motorcyclist struck a tree after leaving the roadway while negotiating a curve.

The 52-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Sanbornton Police Department said, as of 8:15 a.m. Sunday, it was withholding the motorcyclist's name so his family would have time to notify one another.

According to New England 511, a section of Route 132 was closed by the intersection of Isaac Colby Road for several hours after the crash. The scene was cleared around 8:15 p.m.

The most recent data from the NH Office of Highway Safety showed, as of Oct. 6, there had been 101 traffic fatalities in New Hampshire, including 24 motorcycle
