MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas (CW39) — A major drug bust in Montgomery County led to the discovery of 33 pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop on Thursday evening, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the traffic stop happened around 5:40 p.m. in the 17000 block of Interstate 45 near Madisonville, Tx.. That's where officers found a large amount of cocaine inside the vehicle.

The people inside the car were arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance – Penalty Group 1, over 400 grams. The sheriff’s office credited Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable's Office K-9 Rambo with helping locate the drugs inside the vehicle.

Officials said the investigation remains active and ongoing.
