VONORE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Monroe County Sheriff's Office Marine Unit is searching for a missing boater in Vonore Sunday morning, MCSO said.

MCSO received a report of a missing boater near the Ballplay Boat Dock, off of Highway 360, Sheriff Tommy Jones said around 9:30 a.m. Multiple assisting agencies are also searching.

"We ask that the public avoid the search area to allow first responders to conduct operations safely and efficiently," Jones said. "At this stage, no further details are available."
