RHINEBECK, N.Y. — Supervisor Elizabeth Spinzia is unopposed on the Democratic ballot line in her reelection bid, but she sees challenges for the town in the year ahead.

Spinzia, 63, is seeking a seventh term as supervisor. She previously ran unsuccessfully for the position in 2009 and won a Town Board seat in 2011 before winning her current position for the first time in 2013. She has lived in the town for 21 years and, with her husband, James Steveson, has one child. She is a 1980 graduate of Southampton High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in literature from Bard College in 1984.

Among initiatives Spinzia wants to move forward with is implementing an occupancy tax.
