CLEARWATER COUNTY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — A Clearwater County search and rescue team found a Kootenai County deputy dead following an accident involving an off-road vehicle.
Dale Law, 43, died after he was ejected when an off-road vehicle rolled down the side of an old logging road near the South Fork of Robinson Creek, according to the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office stated they received a report of an overdue person on an off-road vehicle near Elk River around 1 a.m. on Friday. A massive search and rescue operation began, which scanned the area surrounding Elk River to Dworshak Reservoir.
The team found the missing vehicle around noon on Friday with the help of hunters who volunteered in the search. The team found Law dead near the vehicle.
