A festival celebrating the United States' upcoming 250th birthday honored the culture of the country’s river cities in southern Ohio.
America’s River Roots Festival is a five-day event that brought riverboats from seven cities to Cincinnati, celebrating the cultures, cuisine and music from the country’s major river cities.
Riverboats hail from New Orleans, Louisville, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Illinois, St. Paul Minnesota and Memphis.
"It all brings together that that very romantic era in like American history and the kind of the art they loved, the color scheme they really liked and just how they kind of gives like a glimpse how they saw the world," Tobi Aina, a Cincinnati area resident said.
Participants were able to experience cultural tours of Cincinnati, the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, World Heritage Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks and the Ohio River Recreational Trail.
