ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) — Runners gathered in Eldridge Park on Sunday morning for Able2's sixth annual Guts and Grit 5K and One Miler Walk. Organizers said this event is an important way to raise money to help support the work Able2 does in the community.

Around sixty walkers and runners came to the event. It was open to all age levels and people of any ability. The annual walk and run is about more than just getting out and getting exercise; it's also a fundraiser.

John Kohena is a member of the Able2 board. He also has two siblings who have disabilities. His parents started the Cerebral Palsy and Handicapped Children's Association of Chemung County 75 years ago. Now known as Able2, he says the mission his parents started in the 1950s is still the same.
