LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — We've had another beautiful weekend in central Arkansas, perfect for the opening weekend of the state fair.
As we start the new week, upper-level ridging (or high pressure) will dominate the forecast.
Mainly sunny skies will extend through the week, so if you haven't been to the fair yet, it's best to do so before closing weekend. Closing weekend at the fair will likely look a lot different from the previous week.
As that aforementioned high pressure moves into the southeastern United States, an upper-level trough will begin to approach from the Great Plains.
That trough will help push a cold front through the state between Saturday and Sunday. However, our two long-range models disagree a little with the timing of this.
