AKRON — St. Ursula Academy is sitting in fifth place and St. John’s Jesuit is tied for seventh after day one of the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division I boys and girls state golf tournaments held in Akron on Sunday.
On the girls side, competing on the Fazio Course at Firestone Country Club, the Arrows of St. Ursula collectively shot 326 to put themselves in fifth. Leading the way was Kennedy Donnelly who was in a four-way tie for 10th after shooting a 6-over-par 76.
Olivia Rodgers placed 23rd (82) for the Arrows, Sydney Socha 28th (83), Lindsey Kornowa 38th (85), and Mia McIntyre 47th (88).
Also tying with Donnelly for 10th and carding a 76 was Anthony Wayne’s Sophia Stanton. The Generals were 11th out of 12 teams following day one.
