In total, residents paid approximately $4 million in sales taxes during August.

The county also ranked 10th in the Prairie State the month before, with approximately $3.9 million spent in sales taxes.

The largest share of sales taxes paid by Sangamon County residents in August came from the County School Facility Tax.
