Thunderstorms with lightning, small hail, and gusty winds moved through western Washington Sunday evening.

A winter weather advisory remains in effect for mountain areas above 4,000 feet, with up to 10 inches of snow possible.

Cooler temperatures and clearer skies are expected by Tuesday, with improving weather through midweek.

SEATTLE - Thunderstorms rolled through parts of western Washington Sunday evening, bringing lightning, small hail, and gusty winds as an active weather system continued to move across the region.

"It has been an active Sunday, and it’s going to continue into the evening hours with some thunder and lightning, even pockets of small hail," said FOX 13 Meteorologist Ilona McCauley.
