MADERA, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Central Valley man flushed his competition away on the national stage.

On Thursday, the Plumbing National Championship was held at Palm Beach, Florida.

Candidates from all over the country entered a digital qualifying challenge.

From there, the top 20 competitors moved to round two.

Then the top five from that category competed in Florida, which includes Madera's Ian Edelbacher.

He told Action News he was shocked to win first place, "No, it was very exciting, surprised still because I was the least experienced plumber there.''

Ian has just four years of experience under his belt.

He took home a large trophy, including $10,000.
