CENTRAL VALLEY, Calif. (KFSN) -- This time tomorrow, 68 Valley veterans will be heading to Washington, D.C., to visit memorials built in their honor.
The 33rd Central Valley Honor Flight will depart from Fresno early Monday morning, including Kim Pennington of Sanger.
The 78-year-old Vietnam War veteran will participate in the three-day trip of a lifetime.
Pennington won't be experiencing this Honor Flight alone, he will also be traveling to the East Coast with his son, Kyle, who will serve as his guardian on the trip.
Monday's flight will also include veterans representing 17 hometowns across 8 counties from the Central Valley.
The oldest veterans include two 96-year-old Korean War veterans.
The Honor Flight is expected to take off from Fresno around 6:30 a.m. Monday, with Congress
