OCEAN CITY, N.J. -- Powerful winds and flooding swept through Ocean City on Sunday as a coastal storm pummeled the Jersey Shore, bringing gusts up to 60 miles per hour and prompting road closures throughout the day.
"The wind is so strong," said Scott Hartranft of Somers Point. "I've been down here many a times before but never this strong."
The storm's force could be felt along the boardwalk, where debris was scattered and waves crashed against the shore.
"It feels like it's coming," said Zack Mace of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, as he and his family tried to enjoy a brief walk before conditions worsened. "We moved the cars earlier today but behind that that's all of the preparing we're doing. We pulled our stuff from the decks and stuff."
