BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO) -- SDSU scored just 14 points through almost three quarters before pulling away from Northern Iowa for a 31-3 win on Hobo Day Saturday.
South Dakota State outgained UNI by 160 yards. Quarterback Chase Mason ran for two touchdowns and passed for two more.
The Jackrabbits scored on three straight drives in the second half to push an 11-point advantage out to the final margin of 28. For the offense, it all started with picking up a single first down on each drive.
"I feel like once we got going, there was no stopping us," SDSU senior quarterback Chase Mason said. "So there's times where we're kind of backed up there and, just getting that first first down. So, there was times it's going to be slow, but you just got to keep the guys locked in and keep going."
