ABERDEEN, S.D. (KELO) -- Northern State defeated No. 10 Minnesota Duluth 34-31 Saturday. The win marks the first W over a top-10 team in the last two decades.

The Wolves scored 20 of the last 23 points of the first half to build a 10-point lead heading into the half. After the Bulldogs made it a three-point game, NSU's defense shut the door with an interception in the final minute to seal the dub.

"That's the best team that we've played in my time here, just in evaluating them and watching them and seeing how good they are," Northern State head coach Mike Schmidt said. "I told them all week, like, I don't know how we're going to win this game, but we're going to win it. And you looked at the stat sheet and it don't look like we're the winning team."
