Stronger candidate vetting, better policies and recruiting more women are among what the WA Liberals must do to be competitive at the next state election, an internal review has found.
The Liberals won just seven of the 59 lower house seats in the 2025 WA election, which prompted strong criticism from inside the party about its campaign .
That spurred an internal audit which has now offered 78 recommendations to the party leadership, which the ABC has seen.
The authors have proposed bold policy over small target strategies, recruiting more women and diverse candidates, and sharper digital campaigns to resonate with younger voters.
