Jock Zonfrillo's daughter Ava has revealed why she made the difficult decision to leave Australia after the loss of her father.

The 24-year-old told Woman's Day she moved to the United Kingdom about 18 months ago, "wanting something more" after the death of the MasterChef Australia judge in 2023.

"I always knew that I would live abroad at some point, and he did too – [he'd be] in full support," Ava said.

She said she thinks her father "would be really proud" of her decision.

Zonfrillo, 46, was found dead at an inner-city hotel in Carlton, Melbourne, on April 30, 2023.
