Charleston, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A vehicle pursuit in Charleston ended with one person being sent to the hospital early Monday morning.
Dunbar police originally tried making a traffic stop at the Dunbar entrance ramp on I-64 around 1:30 am, but police say the driver took off once the officer was out of their cruiser.
A chase ensued, leading police into Charleston on I-64, where they say the driver was reaching speeds of 140 miles per hour.
Police say the driver then used the Oakwood Road exit ramp while at a speed of about 80 miles per hour and went off the road, flipping onto its side.
Police say the driver of the vehicle was taken to a hospital, while two other people in the car were detained.
At this time it is not known the extent of the drivers injuries, or if there will be any charges
