An Edinburgh student has bravely shared her endometriosis struggles in an effort to highlight the changes needed when caring for the condition.
Poppy Harris was just 13-years-old when she realised something wasn't right with her periods, her first menstrual cycle saw her in pain so intense and bleeding so heavy that she soaked through a thick pad, her tights, and her school skirt in under an hour.
She recalled: "I just remember being in so much pain and thinking, surely this isn’t for the rest of my life."
It wasn't until this year that she received her official diagnosis of endometriosis, despite her having her first hospital visit at just 13 or 14.
She endured seven years of uncertainty, repeated appointments, and dismissal. Throughout this time she trialled over a dozen contracept
