State Superintendent Mo Green will visit Burke County Public Schools in about a week as part of the state’s rollout of a new strategic plan.

Green will be in the county on Oct. 22, starting at Mountain View Elementary School from 1:50 to 4 p.m. and at Patton High School for a community event starting at 5:30 p.m., according to a tentative schedule.

At Mountain View, he will tour the dual language classrooms, help with the afternoon car rider line, meet with YMCA officials in the 21st Grant program and hear from district leaders on the system’s balanced instruction initiative that focuses on less screen time, said Cheryl Shuffler, public information officer for Burke County Public Schools.
