A New Zealand mother has issued a dire warning to tourists after her son had a nasty reaction to a temporary henna tattoo in Bali .
Danielle Choat and her family were watching the sunset on the popular Kuta Beach when a man approached them and asked if they wanted a henna tattoo on September 21.
Her 10-year-old son, Mason, was the only one to agree and got an intricate design painted in black on his right inner forearm. Just days later he would be in a doctor’s office.
“It wasn’t until we were back home in New Zealand, seven days after getting the henna tattoo, that it became very itchy and once washed off it came up in welts and was very sore,” Choat told 7NEWS.com.au.
Despite a week’s worth of topical and oral antibiotics to try to clear the condition, Mason has seen “no improvemen
