Sussex County hadn't done a countywide property tax reassessment since the 1970s.

Since then, the population has ballooned by more than 150,000 people to over 230,000. Development in Delaware's oldest county has accelerated, but outside of summer a quiet vibe remains. Sussex is the state's only true Republican county, and it lacks a major population center.
