FISHERS, Ind. -- October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Across central Indiana and the nation, people are calling attention to the deadly disease.
Among the area events was the 9th Annual Tour de Komen, which brings out dozens of Hoosiers who bike 100 miles from Fishers to Terre Haute in honor breast cancer survivors and those who've passed away. Saturday's event kicked off from the Roy G. Memorial Park, where founder Kyle Vannoni led the way.
He launched the organization in honor of his late mother, Peggy, who died of breast cancer when he was just 12 years old.
