Sun Valley Community School Cutthroats junior boys soccer player Tommy Hovey did not want to miss the team’s locker room celebration after Saturday’s 7-0 victory against the Kimberly Bulldogs.

“They’re going to have the music bumping back in the locker room,” he said. “I’m excited to get back there. The overall vibe with the team this year has been phenomenal. We understand each other and what it takes. We’re figuring it out and hopefully we can make a push to state.”

The No. 2 seed Cutthroats started that push to state as they dispatched the No. 7 seed Bulldogs in Idaho Class 4A High Desert Conference first-round district tournament action at Browning Field in Sun Valley.

“This sets the tone for the rest of districts and state,” Hovey said.
