Benbecula Distillery has secured a £1.5m investment from the British Business Bank’s Investment Fund for Scotland.

Delivered via Maven Capital Partners, the deal represents the fund’s first equity investment in the Highlands and Islands, with the funding designed to help including scale up production, support the whisky maturation process and expand headcount.

Reviving a recipe first crafted more than 130 years ago, Benbecula Distillery began production last spring, with its visitor centre and café opening this April.
