BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. —

Four people were killed and four others critically injured in a shooting at a bar on St. Helena in South Carolina.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office said a 911 call came in just before 1 a.m. Sunday about a shooting at Willie’s Bar and Grill.

When deputies arrived, they found a large crowd of people, several of whom were suffering from gunshot wounds.

Authorities said hundreds of people were at the bar when the shooting started.

The bar owner, Willie Turral, said the business was hosting the Battery Creek High Schools alumni weekend.

"I heard the shots and it was it was scary from the inside," Turral said. "You saw people picking people up. You saw people crying."
