A pedestrian was fatally struck by a white SUV in the Bishop Arts District of Dallas around 10:30 p.m. Sunday as he was crossing the street to meet friends.

The driver of the SUV, who was reportedly speeding, crashed into a parked car after hitting the victim and immediately fled the scene on foot.

Police located the driver about an hour later, approximately a mile from the crash site.

DALLAS - A driver of an SUV struck and killed a pedestrian in the Bishop Arts District Sunday night before fleeing the scene, according to police.
