ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — The annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event returned this year, aiming to surpass its previous fundraising achievements while raising awareness for breast cancer.
Held at People's Natural Gas Field, the event featured a walk around Lakemont Park and Park Avenue, bringing together a community dressed in pink to support those affected by breast cancer and survivors.
Rabbi Audrey Korotkin, a breast cancer survivor, shared her emotional experience of participating in the walk while still undergoing treatment, saying, "The first time I did one of these walks, I was still in treatment. And I walked out and all these people were getting out of their cars, and I burst into tears and said, 'They're here for me.'"
