WALDENS CREEK, Tenn. (WATE) — Firefighters rescued a person from a burning home in the Waldens Creek area of Sevier County Monday morning, the Waldens Creek Volunteer Fire Department said.

Around 3 a.m., someone called to report a fire on the 1200 block of Sugar Leaf Road. First responders from multiple agencies rushed to the scene where they found a single-family home with fire and smoke coming from a bedroom.

A neighbor told them that someone was still inside, the Waldens Creek Volunteer Fire Department said. Firefighters entered the home and found the person. Sevier County Ambulance Service took them to LeConte Medical Center.
