Two people were killed after a plane crashed into an 18-wheeler and multiple trailers resulting in a fiery explosion near a Texas airfield, local authorities confirmed to WFAA .

The plane crashed nose-first and slid along the pavement in the 12700 block of North Saginaw Boulevard before colliding with the parked 18-wheeler and trailers. A thick, black plume of smoke was visible for miles and road closures were prompted in the area.

The plane was identified by the National Transportation Safety Board as a Beech King Air C90 twin-engine aircraft, which was confirmed by the local fire department to have departed from Alliance Airport in Fort Worth. At least 10 tractor-trailers were reported to have experienced significant damages in the crash.
