The former Royal Bank of Scotland building in Maybole’s Whitehall will be turned into a new restaurant and takeaway, after the proposals were rubber stamped. ‌

One application pertained to a proposed change of use at the site and the other sought alterations to the listed building. ‌

Both applications have been approved by council officers under delegated powers. ‌

The bank closed its doors in 2016 as part of cost-cutting measures by RBS.

Now it’s hoped these fresh proposals can breathe new life into the building and provide jobs for the area.

The agent in the proposals was David Bell Architect and the applicants are Gurpreet Kaur and Sukhdev Singh. ‌
