CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio -- The Chagrin Documentary Film Festival concluded the in-person portion of the event over the weekend by honoring its top films.
“Shuffle,” director Benjamin Flaherty’s investigation into the $52 billion drug-rehab industry and the corruption behind its growth, was named Best of the Fest. The honor is named for David Ponce, the late son of festival founder Mary Ann Ponce.
The winning filmmakers shared $10,000 in prize money. Other honorees included:
“This year’s winning films exemplify the very best of documentary filmmaking,” said executive director Morgan Crawford in a statement. “We’re honored to recognize these filmmakers and share their important work with our community.”
