MANKATO, Minn. ( KEYC /Gray News) - A 16-year-old Minnesota boy has had a lifelong battle with heart issues, but as a lover of the Rubik’s Cube, it was just another puzzle he knew he could solve.

Owen Saidler, 16, was born with three chambers in his heart, which caused him to suffer from several other health issues. He is now recovering at home after receiving a long-awaited transplant.

“We knew it was going to be a long journey, and then, we heard years later that he would need a heart someday. So, it’s always been weighing on our minds,” said Owen’s father, Adam Saidler.

Owen would be on and off the transplant list, and keeping the faith got tough at times. Through it all, the Saidlers were surrounded by their family, friends and members of their church.
