MONCKS CORNER, S.C. — Google plans a $9 billion investment in South Carolina from 2026 to 2027 to expand cloud and AI infrastructure and support local workforce development.

The investment will fund the expansion of the Berkeley County data center campus and the completion of two new data center campuses in Dorchester County.

These three projects will strengthen Google Cloud's South Carolina's region, which is part of the company's global network of 42cloud regions. South Carolina region is connected with global networks like Firmina and Nuvem subsea cables, currently anchored in Myrtle Beach. According to Google, this unique combination of infrastructure continues to position the state as a global leader in AI-driven transformation.
