Seattle police say a man struck and killed by a car Friday night was lying in the road, next to a very busy intersection.
Detectives with the police department’s Traffic Collision Investigation Squad are still trying to figure out why he was lying in the roadway.
They say around 10:45 p.m., 911 dispatchers received reports about a car-versus-pedestrian collision.
Police say it involved a 31-year-old man.
Investigators say a person lying in the road was hit near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Way S. and Rainier Ave. S., one of the busiest intersections in the city of Seattle.
A Seattle Fire crew arrived and medics started providing medical attention to the victim.
Despite efforts to save the his life, he did not survive.
Medics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
