INDIANA — Residents across a four-county region are being called upon to help clean up local waterways this October by participating in the “No Trash in the River” contest.

The initiative, sponsored by the Lower East Fork White River Watershed 319 Grant, aims to remove litter from areas that feed into the White River, promoting healthier water quality throughout the region.

Families, friends, and community groups in Dubois, Martin, Pike, and Daviess counties are encouraged to spend time picking up trash in local outdoor areas throughout the month. Participants are even welcome to wear Halloween costumes to make the cleanup a fun, seasonal activity.

To enter the contest, participants must clean an outdoor area and email a photo of their cleanup efforts to Watershed Coordinator Julie Loe
