A man was rescued after falling down a steep river bluff near the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities campus in Minneapolis.

The accident was reported around 8:25 p.m. Saturday, with a man calling 911 from his watch, saying he fell down a steep riverbank and was "struck" in brush and trees, though he wasn't sure of his exact location.

The man said he was in East River Flats Park earlier, "but doesn’t remember what happened after that," Minneapolis Fire Department said.

Fire crews and the University of Minnesota Police Department used "sirens, spotlights and ... infrared lights" to try to find the man, who was "buried deep in the steep river bluff."
