JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) — Johnstown officials are considering new security measures for City Hall and public meetings after a recent council session took a heated turn, according to our media partners at The Tribune-Democrat.

The discussion follows an incident during Wednesday's meeting, when a man reportedly became aggressive during the public comment period and refused police orders. City Hall was later locked down Friday as a precaution.

While no formal action has been taken, City Manager Art Martynuska said the city is looking into entryway metal detectors for City Hall and the Public Safety Building. Officials are also exploring the addition of a full-time building security officer, with a job posting already placed in Saturday’s edition of The Tribune-Democrat.
