Calgary police rescued over two dozen puppies that were on the loose in Northwest Calgary.

Calgary police rescued more than two dozen puppies after responding to an animal complaint on Sunday.

At 4:15 p.m., police responded to a call which saw the pups running around the neighbourhood near the 2100 block of 24 Avenue NW.

Four CPS units were on scene to wrangle the pups out of the cold and into warm vans.

Calgary police will be liaising with the Calgary Humane Society in an effort to house the pups and thoroughly investigate the incident.
