Police and town officials from New Britain and Farmington are going to be providing an update on the discovery of the remains of a young girl in a container behind an abandoned home in New Britain last week.

Police have not released the girl's name and age, but a family member identified her as Jacqueline Torres . The family called her "Mimi."

Police found Torres’ remains when officers responded to the area of 80 Clark St. in New Britain on Wednesday afternoon to investigate a report of suspicious behavior and they discovered a large container in the backyard along the fence line.

Officers opened the container and found human remains inside.
