GEORGETOWN, Ill. (WCIA) -- No one is hurt after a Georgetown house was destroyed by a fire over the weekend.
The fire happened at 305 Garfield Street early Saturday morning. Captain Darrell Starwalt, Georgetown Fire Protection District, said firefighters were dispatched at 12:30 a.m. and they remained on the scene for four hours.
The fire protection district also posted details of the fire on Facebook.
"The fire was brought under control fairly quickly with the help of several fire departments that assisted us with this fire," officials wrote. "There were 42 various crew members on the scene, including EMS, Vermilion County Deputies, Georgetown Police, the City of Georgetown and Ameren. We would like to sincerely thank the following departments for the help with this fire."
