A Georgia man is facing multiple felony charges after a 13-year-old girl missing from Alabama was found in his backyard on Thursday, four days after she was last seen getting into a vehicle in Mobile County.

Police in Valdosta said the child’s appearance had been altered when they located her, including changes to her hair color and a haircut.

Authorities called the case “extremely disturbing” and said the investigation revealed a months-long online grooming process that ended with the girl being lured across state lines.
