Hamilton firefighters extinguished a fire Sunday night in a former Hess Village nightclub — the site of another blaze in 2023 .

The Hamilton Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire at 33 Hess St. South, at the corner of George Street, shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 12, assistant deputy fire chief Steve Welton said in an email.

He said when firefighters arrived they “observed smoke and flames” inside the building. Welton said crews entered the building, “brought the fire under control” and extinguished it before it could spread through the property and cause significant damage.

According to the fire department online incidents dashboard, 10 units responded to the fire.
