A 45-year-old Simcoe man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of his mother .

Justin Morgan was arrested and charged by police in Norfolk County Friday in connection with the killing of 71-year-old Barbara Morgan, Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Ed Sanchuk said in a press release Saturday evening.

Sanchuk confirmed to The Spectator the accused is the son of the dead woman.

Barbara Morgan was found dead by police inside a house on Head Street South the morning of Oct. 5 . Sanchuk said a post-mortem examination determined her death “was the result of a homicide” but did not disclose a specific cause of death.

In a press release, police said they remain concerned for the well-being of Robert Sykes, 49, of Simcoe , who they believe could be an “additional victim.
