The City of Maumee is hosting a rain barrel workshop, including all the tools and supplies for participants to make their own water-collection bin.
The workshop, led by Lucas County Soil and Water Conservation District staff, will be held at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at the city’s public service building at 210 Illinois Ave.
Cost to attend is $40 and participation is limited to 10 people. Go to lswcd-shop.square.site for details and to register.
Participants will receive materials to make a 55-gallon rainwater collection barrel.
Barrels are intended to be installed beneath a downspout and “are an easy and efficient way to manage stormwater while also saving money and resources,” the conservation district said.
