Aside from the location — side-by-side on on Lime City Road, off of State Rt. 795 — Rossford’s new middle school will share something else with the R, the district’s multi-purpose building.
Like the 73,600-square-foot $17.5 million R, which opened in August, 2023, the construction of the new middle school will not be funded by taxpayer dollars.
School officials broke ground on the new $35 million, 76,000-square-foot middle school Monday. It is expected to open in August, 2027, and will serve approximately 400 fourth through sixth graders.
“We’re standing in the shadow of the last great project that we did here — the R — on the brink of breaking ground for a new one,” said Superintendent Dan Creps, welcoming the crowd to the groundbreaking for the new middle school, which will be built
