AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) - The Amarillo Police Department released information on an early Saturday incident in which one person was hospitalized after a fight allegedly turned into a shooting.

Police responded to a business in the 900 block of South Madison Street at around 12:25 a.m. on Saturday, according to the department, on a report of at least one person who had been shot and was on the way to a local hospital.

According to police, the alleged shooter and an employee of the business had gotten into an argument. Allegedly, the suspected shooter pulled out a gun and began to fight the employee. When the suspected shooter fired the gun, one person was hit and then taken to an area hospital.
