MADERA, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two people have died following a crash in Madera early Monday morning.

Police say it happened just before 6 am at the intersection of Avenue 16 and Road 23.

Authorities say an unlicensed teen was driving east on Avenue 16 with the headlights off when he ran a stop sign and crashed into a vehicle.

Two adults were in the vehicle, and police say they were trapped inside when they arrived. Both died from their injuries.

Authorities say alcohol or drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.
